Allen County ATV crash injures teenager

A teenager was injured Thursday when the ATV she was operating overturned and pinned her beneath the roll bar in a winter wheat field, Indiana conservation officers said today.

They said in a statement that Brooklyn A. Robin, 16, was operating the ATV south on a farm lane in the 8800 block of Greenwell Road about 7:30 p.m. when she attempted to make a hard left turn at a high rate of speed.

The ATV flipped, overturned and ejected her and a 14-year-old passenger, the statement said.

It said Brooklyn was pinned under the roll bar and was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center, where she is in serious condition with lung contusions, a broken rib and a collapsed lung.

Allen County police and Huntertown and Churubusco firefighters assisted.
