Gun death is year’s 7th homicide

– A young man found shot to death Monday evening on Fort Wayne's south side has been identified as Allen County's latest homicide victim.

Eighteen-year-old Sean D. Walker was found suffering from gunshot wounds about 7:30 p.m. Police were called to the 2500 block of Weisser Park Avenue on a report of shots fired, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office. He was in the grass of a small vacant lot and died at the scene.

His death was ruled a homicide – the seventh this year in Allen County.

Police had no new information to release Tuesday in the case. Detectives continued to investigate the shooting.

The last homicide was the death of Nicholas X. Palacio, 29, who was found shot to death June 11 in a home on Chippendale Court in the Southwick Village neighborhood on Fort Wayne's southeast side.
