No one home during blaze

Firefighters had to force their way into a home Thursday after a neighbor saw smoke coming from it.

No one was home when the fire department arrived at 7208 Cranberry Road, near Cook and Coldwater roads, and firefighters had to force open a door to get inside and put out the fire, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said.

Firefighters found the blaze in the upstairs bedroom and attic of the split-level home.

The fire was under control in about 10 minutes, the department said.

The home had moderate fire damage, as well as minor smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation.
