Police responding to home invasion find pot in grandpa’s basement

HAMILTON, Ohio – Police in southwest Ohio say they found a basement marijuana growing operation after an 87-year-old man was held at gunpoint by home invasion burglars.

The Butler County sheriff’s office said deputies seized marijuana plants and growing equipment from the home in Ross Township near Hamilton. Deputies responded to a 12:50 a.m. report Thursday that Howard Fisher was the victim of a home invasion burglary that targeted things belonging to his grandson. The grandson wasn’t home.

Deputies said they found the older man at the home of neighbors who had called 911. He was nursing a hand injury inflicted by one of the suspects.

Deputies say they discovered the marijuana while looking for the suspects.

Police are still investigating and have made no arrests. No other information was available.
