2 held on city drug charges

Two Fort Wayne residents were held on drug charges after Fort Wayne police served a search warrant at their Wilt Street apartment this morning, city police said.

They said Matthew Yeakle, 29, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor. His bond was set at $30,000.

Lisa Yeakle, 32, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance and two misdemeanors, police said. Her bond was sent at $5,000.

Police said members of the Emergency Services Team and the Vice & Narcotics Division served the warrant at an apartment in the 1100 block of Wilt Street after detectives received information that someone there may have been involved in manufacturing methamphetamine.

They said detectives searching the aparrtment found a pistol, numerous pills and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Fort Wane Neighborhood Code and Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control assisted city police in the investigation, which is ongoing, police said.
