Verbatim: Mike's Carwash closing Glenbrook location

A press release received Friday morning:

Mike’s Carwash will close its doors at Glenbrook Square at 9pm Friday, June 13th, after more than 40 years at the corner of Coliseum Boulevard and Coldwater Road.

Glenbrook is the only Mike’s Fort Wayne location operating on leased property, and a decision was made in 2013 to not renew the lease.

“We have a lot of history at Glenbrook, and we have loved operating there,” said Mike’s CEO Bill Dahm. “With five other convenient locations in Fort Wayne, we are confident our customers will be well served by Mike’s. We will also continue looking for new locations in the Fort Wayne area.”

Mike’s wash books, Unlimited passes and all other wash tickets purchased at Glenbrook will be accepted at all of Mike’s other locations.

Founded in Fort Wayne in 1948 by Joe Dahm, Mike’s operates in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, and is the fourth largest carwash chain in the US.

Fort Wayne locations:

  • 1509 S. Calhoun
  • 4020 E. State Blvd.
  • 6313 Lima Road
  • 6215 W. Jefferson Blvd.
  • 10320 Maysville Road
