Man, 60, accused of molesting girl

A Fort Wayne man was charged Wednesday with child molesting after a young girl accused him of inappropriately touching her.

The girl, whose age was not disclosed but who was younger than 14 at the time, told police that Dennis W. Nidlinger, 60, of the 2400 block of Gump Road, had her remove her pants and then touched her.

The girl’s mother told investigators they had known Nidlinger for years and said she felt sorry for him because he is a paraplegic.

On the advice of his attorney, Nidlinger did not give a statement to police.

Nidlinger was not yet in custody Wednesday evening.
