Big Lots, of Columbus, Ohio, has recalled about 14,000 ottomans it said could collapse during normal use, posing a fall hazard to consumers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said today.
Big Lots has received 19 reports of comsumers falling through the centers of ottomans, the commission said in a statement. Six minor injuries were reported.
The Wilson and Fisher brand Cayman Resin Wicker Ottoman should be returned to any Big Lots store for a $50 refund, the statement said. It said they were sold as part of a six-piece set in February and March for about $320 per set; consumers may keep the remaining pieces in the sets.
The ottomans are dark brown resin wicker with cream-colored cushions, the statement said. The recalled sets will have item number DA13-015-6S-2CO and SKU 810140754, which can be found in instructions accompanying the sets.
