LEBANON, Ind. – A fire filled a central Indiana supermarket with smoke, causing the evacuation of about 30 shoppers and employees from the store.
The fire broke out Tuesday evening in the Kroger store in Lebanon. City police Sgt. Ben Phelps said the workers and customers were already outside when emergency workers arrived and that no injuries were reported.
The fire was confined to the produce case area, but the cause wasn’t immediately determined.
The store closed so firefighters could clear smoke from the building. Kroger reopened it late Wednesday morning.
