SANDUSKY, Ohio – Cedar Point was forced to shut down its amusement park and most of its resorts on a picture-perfect summer day Saturday, as a water main break in the city of Sandusky disrupted the primary water supply.
Park officials said in a statement that a lack of reliable water posed safety risks. They called employees and told them to stay home until further notice, and assured guests their tickets would be honored on future dates this season.
Water problems could affect the park’s water rides, concessions and restrooms.
By afternoon, the park said its resort properties on the peninsula would also be closed Saturday night and tonight.
