The TinCaps were unable to extend their win streak to three games as they fell 7-1 at Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon.
Dustin Peterson opened scoring in the fourth for Fort Wayne (28-34) off a Jake Bauers RBI single.
That would be it for the TinCaps as the Hot Rods (29-33) scored four in the fifth inning. It started with a ground ball off Armando Araiza to Peterson, who threw high to Bauers, giving Peterson his 21st error of the season.
Bowling Green then scored off an RBI double from Ariel Soriano, a two-run Tyler Young triple and another RBI double from Alexander Simon. The Hot Rods added to their lead in the sixth off a Graden Geotzman RBI double, and again in the eighth with a two-run homer from Yoel Araujo.
TinCaps starter Payton Baskette (1-3) gave up five runs (four earned) with six hits in 5 1/3 innings, after pitching a perfect first four.
Bowling Green starter Ryne Stanek (3-2) gave up five hits, three walks and struck out five.
Bauers finished at 2 for 4 extending his hitting streak to 14 games, the longest active streak in the Midwest Leauge.
The TinCaps complete their three-game series in Bowling Green at 8 p.m. Monday.
