House heavily damaged by fire in northeast Fort Wayne

A two-story house in northeast Fort Wayne was heavily damaged by fire early Saturday, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

No one was inside the house, at 9610 Seaview Cove, when firefighters arrived at 1:24 a.m. and found it about half engulfed in flames.

The fire damaged the garage area extending up to the rest of the house, and crews worked to extinguish the fire from the basement to the attic. They had the fire under control by 2:09 a.m., the statement said.

The house next door sustained some heat damage, and the blaze is under investigation.
