  • Cabrera, Price lead Tigers’ rout
David Price would like to forget everything about Aug. 27, maybe the ugliest game of his career. He erased some it from his memory.
  • Brewers’ Central lead eclipsed by Soler, Cubs
Jorge Soler has never lacked confidence. Even before being promoted to the major leagues last week, the Cuban slugger declared this season to be “his time.” But his blistering start with the Chicago Cubs has caught even him off-guard.
  • Kirk wins Deutsche Bank by 2
Chris Kirk made three big putts and captured the biggest win of his career Monday in the Deutsche Bank Championship. Whether that was enough for U.S. captain Tom Watson to add him to the Ryder Cup team was the least of his concerns.

Choice HR bails out Darvish, Texas tops Tribe

ARLINGTON, Texas — Michael Choice hit a tiebreaking homer in the seventh inning after ace Yu Darvish blew a four-run lead and the Texas Rangers snapped the Cleveland's six-game winning streak with a 6-4 victory over the Indians on Friday night.

Choice, who had an RBI single in a four-run second, went the opposite way just over the right-field wall against Marc Rzepczynski (0-2) with two outs for a solo homer. The shot made a winner of Darvish (6-2) after the Japanese ace gave up a season-high nine hits in seven innings.

Texas reliever Jason Frasor got a nifty double play from Elvis Andrus in a scoreless eighth, and closer Joakim Soria had two strikeouts in the ninth for his 13th save.
