Big Ten to keep football title game in Indianapolis

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten will keep its football championship game in Indianapolis through 2021.

Conference officials made the announcement Thursday, following a unanimous vote by the council of presidents and chancellors.

Indianapolis has hosted each of the first three football title games. With the addition of Maryland and Rutgers next month, there was a perception the game could rotate.

Chicago will host the men’s basketball tourney in 2019 and 2021, while Indianapolis will get it in 2020 and 2022. Chicago has the tournament next year, then Indianapolis and then Washington, D.C., in 2017.

The women’s basketball tournament, which has been held in the same city as the men’s tourney the last several years, will be played in Indianapolis each year from 2017 through 2022.
