Pre-dawn fire hits west-side house

FORT WAYNE – A vacant house on the city’s west side was struck by fire before dawn Monday.

Firefighters were sent to 327 Stormy Ridge Place after neighbors who saw smoke and flames called shortly after 5:10 a.m., according to a statement issued by the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

It said that the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The two-story house had heavy smoke damage, with moderate fire and water damager.
