Verbatim: Critical Shooting Investigation

Fort Wayne, IN: On June 2, 2014, at 1:32 AM, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a person shot in a parking lot in the 4200 block of S. Clinton St. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics determined the male to be in serious condition, and transported him to a local hospital, where he was later downgraded to critical condition.

The investigation so far has revealed that some sort of disturbance occurred, which led to the male being shot. It is unknown exactly what the disturbance was about. There were several witnesses in the area, who are currently being interviewed by detectives. Crime scene units responded and are processing the scene for evidence. Any surveillance footage from nearby businesses will also be reviewed.

At this time there are no suspects nor suspect descriptions, and no one is in custody.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
