2 men ID’d in deadly tree crash

– Two Fort Wayne residents have been identified as victims in a double-fatality crash early Tuesday.

Elvis Ibisevic, 31, was the driver of a car that crashed into a tree at Butler Road and Butler Court and burst into flames, according to Fort Wayne police and the Allen County coroner.

A passenger in the car, identified as 40-year-old Akif Avdibasic, was thrown from the car.

Both men died at the scene from blunt-force injuries, according to the coroner’s office.

According to police, the car was headed east on Butler Road when it left the road and hit a tree.

The car was engulfed in flames when police and firefighters arrived.

Responders found Ibisevic still in the car and Avdibasic on the ground nearby, police said.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash, but the wreck remains under investigation.

The deaths mark the sixth and seventh traffic fatalities in Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.
