Phil to perform at Parkview Field

The Fort Wayne Philharmonic will perform a free patriotic concert at Parkview Field this summer, the organization said in a news release Wednesday.

In using Parkview Field for its annual show, the Philharmonic will perform “traditional patriotic music in the most American of spaces … a baseball stadium,” the statement said.

The Philharmonic, which has traditionally performed its Patriotic Pops concert at Foellinger Theatre in Franke Park, will have a news conference at 10 a.m. today to announce the details of the added venue and how the orchestra will use the Fort Wayne TinCaps’ open-air stadium to encourage more families from the area to attend.

The Philharmonic’s other patriotic concert locations include Angola, Auburn, Syracuse and Bluffton beginning June 26.
