Rays send Kiermaier to Triple-A

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rays optioned outfielder and former Bishop Luers star Kevin Kiermaier to Triple-A Durham after Wednesday night’s game against Oakland.

The move was made in conjuction with the team activating starting pitcher Alex Cobb from the 15-day disabled list after missing almost six weeks with a strained side.

The team announced the move on Thursday. Cobb had been on the DL since April 13.
