Disturbance turns into shooting

A man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot multiple times late Wednesday.

Fort Wayne Public Information Officer Michael Joyner said that police responded to the 1300 block of Green Street about disturbance involving a man with a handgun. While officers where on their way to the location, they received additional information that shots had been heard.

Joyner said when officers arrived on the scene they found a male victim behind a building with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

While officers where at the scene, police located a van in an apartment complex about a block away. Joyner said they have detained that person as part of the investigation.

No arrests have been made, and the shooting is under investigation.
