Existing-home sales in area fall 17.4% in April

Sales of existing homes in the region decreased 17.4 percent in April, compared with the same period a year ago, according to a report released Thursday by the Upstate Alliance of Realtors.

Upstate tracks data from Allen, Adams, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wells and Whitley counties.

Some other highlights from April are:

  • New listings decreased 1.1 percent, to 1,163;
  • Pending sales were up 0.8 percent, to 758;
  • Median sales price decreased 3.6 percent, to $105,000.
