TinCaps lose sixth in a row

The TinCaps’ worst losing streak of the season expanded to six in a row with Tuesday’s 7-6 loss to Lake County at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio.

It was the third straight walk-off loss for the TinCaps as the Captains’ Claudio Bautista drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth with a single.

The TinCaps (17-27) had rallied from a 6-2 deficit in the fourth to tie the game at 6 in the eighth.

Henry Charles hit a three-run home run in the sixth to cut the TinCaps’ deficit to 6-5, and Adolfo Reina drove in a run with a single in the eighth.

The TinCaps also scored once in the first as Dane Phillips drove in Mallex Smith, who opened with a walk and stole second and third, with a double, and they scored once in the second with Charles hitting an RBI triple.

Matt Whitehouse got the win for the Captains (15-30), giving up one run on four hits in three innings.

Wilson Santos took the loss, giving up one run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.

The TinCaps committed four errors.
