Fire contained at Fort Wayne Metals

FORT WAYNE – A fire in the ventilation hood system above a pool of potassium sulfate in water at Fort Wayne Metals was extinguished before firefighters arrived early Sunday, according to a report issued by the Fort Wayne Fire Department,

It said the company’s ABC dry powder extinguisher put out the fire, leaving only smoke by the time city crews pulled up.

It was about 4 a.m. at 3618 Ferguson Road, according to the report.
