  • Rookie takes pole in record style
    Kyle Larson had one more celebration left during his birthday week, setting a track record of 183.438 mph to win his first career Sprint Cup pole Friday at Pocono Raceway. He broke the mark of 181.
  • Junior’s focus on sweep
    Dale Earnhardt Jr. landed at Pocono in need of a cleaning tool. “Lookin for a broom,” he tweeted. Junior will be on the hunt for one Sunday when he tries to sweep both races this season at Pocono Raceway.
  • Mid-Ohio prep becomes ragged
    If the IndyCar Series is going to make it 3 for 3 when it comes to caution-free races at Mid-Ohio, the drivers will need to clean it up before Sunday’s Honda Indy 200.

Baer Field Speedway cancels weekend events

Because of nearly 4 inches of rain falling at the track this week, and more expected in the next two days, Baer Field Speedway has canceled its racing for this weekend.

"Our overflow parking lot is totally flooded and we have standing water in several different areas on the property," promoter Jon Raney said in a statement.

"We just don't see any hop

Friday night's drag races will be canceled for the fifth straight week, and Saturday's debut of the Xtreme Sprint Series also is off, the statement said. A makeup date for the sprint series event is being sought.

The speedway plans to resume stock car racing May 24.
