Fort Wayne molester gets 98-year sentence

A Fort Wayne man who molested a small boy over the course of 2 1/2 years was sentenced Wednesday to 98 years in prison.

Johnathon I. Carter, 24, began molesting a 7-year-old boy in November 2011 and continued to do so through April 2013, according to court documents. Carter gave the boy money, soda, candy, food and other gifts, court documents said.

An Allen Superior Court jury this year found Carter guilty of five counts of child molesting.

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced him to 30 years in prison for each of three counts, plus four years each on two counts.

The judge ordered that the sentences are to be served consecutively.
