Young woman slashed outside Fort Wayne bar

FORT WAYNE – A young woman was seriously injured early Tuesday outside a south-side bar.

Officers were called to Clinton Street and McKinnie Avenue shortly before 3:15 a.m. When they arrived, they found the woman in the parking lot of Foster’s Sports Pub, 4226 S. Clinton St.

According to a police officer’s report, the woman was found with 10 cuts on her upper body. She was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, officers’ reports said.

Her name has not been released, but a report indicated the victim was 18 to 20 years old.

The victim had been inside the bar and when she was backing out of a parking space to leave, the report said, a woman accused the driver of trying to hit her.

A woman who was with the victim told police the woman in the parking lot began attacking her friend and then someone went after her as well. At one point, a male kicked her in the head, according to reports.

Witnesses who live nearby told police a number of people were involved. The police said that any attackers left before they arrived.

The victim’s phone and keys were taken, according to officers’ reports.
