1 injured in four-wheeler crash

One man was in the hospital Saturday after a crashing a four wheeler in Noble County on Friday night, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reports.

The victim, Jeffrey C. Gallup, 39, of Wolcottville, was driving a Kawasaki 450R four wheeler on the road in the 3900 block of County Road 1150 North at 9:58 p.m. on Friday when the machine overturned, causing him to fall out of it.

Gallup was not wearing a helmet or other safety equipment at the time of the accident, the statement said. Because he suffered head and internal injuries, he was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne for treatment.

The incident is still under investigation, but the statement said that alcohol is believed to be a factor.
