1 dead, 3 injured after Indianapolis shootings

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Police say one person is dead and three others have been injured following related shootings on the city’s east side.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says in a statement that the shootings happened shortly before 10 p.m. Friday. Responding officers found a male fatally shot at New York and Denny streets. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second male also was found shot at the scene, along with two others who were found injured nearby. All three injured victims were transported to Eskenazi hospital in stable condition.

None of the victims have been identified.

Police say detectives have recovered several shell casings and do not believe the shootings were random.

No further details were released. An investigation is ongoing.
