Bear Field postpones drag races

More rain has led to another postponement of the short track drag races friday at Baer Field Speedway.

The track will attempt to put on the evnt next weekend.

Rain hit the facility around 3 p.m. and lasted for about 15 minutes. Track officials say it takes two hours to air dry the track (they have no drying equipment) and more rain is in the forecast around 7 p.m.

The season opener for the stock cars is still on for Saturday. A five-division “Super Show” plus five $100 cash drawing for race fans in attendance. Spectator gates open at 4; qualifying at 5; racing at 7:30 p.m.
