Rapper 2 Chainz has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in a case filed after his arrest at Los Angeles International Airport.

District attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison says the rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was sentenced Monday to an 18-month drug diversion program, and a felony drug possession charge was dropped.

Robison says the misdemeanor charge will be dropped if Epps successfully completes the program.

The 36-year-old rapper was arrested in June after airport officials reported finding ingredients for the cough syrup-based concoction known as “sizzurp” in his checked baggage.

Cheech film due?

Actor and comedian Cheech Marin says he and longtime comedy partner Tommy Chong might soon reunite on film.

The Las Cruces Sun-News reports Marin made the comments Friday while launching an exhibit of his art collection at the Las Cruces Museum of Art in southern New Mexico.

The 67-year-old, known as one half of “Cheech & Chong,” says there have been discussions about starting a project within the next year.

Meanwhile, the two have been touring together.

An avid collector, Marin met with artists and local high school students before the exhibit’s opening.

Singer robbed

Country music singer Scotty McCreery was the victim of an early morning home invasion near the campus of North Carolina State University, where he is a student.

Raleigh Police spokesman Jim Sughrue says officers were called shortly before 2 a.m. Monday to an apartment about a mile from campus. People at the apartment told police that three suspects armed with guns robbed them of wallets, cash and electronic items.

Police said the 20-year-old McCreery was at the apartment visiting friends. No one was injured.

McCreery won TV’s “American Idol” in 2011. He is wrapping up his sophomore year of college.
