Trek the Trails’ set to kick off tonight

The fifth year of Trek the Trails, Fort Wayne's free, guided, community bike rides, will begin tonight.

The first of the 28 rides, which run through Oct. 7, will begin at 6 p.m. at Salomon Farm. The event includes a 2-mile walk, and an 8-mile bike ride, followed by a trail mixer at the barn with catered food and live music.

The event is free, but Fort Wayne Trails is accepting $10 donations.

Each Tuesday at 6 p.m., riders can participate in a 6- to 8-mile trek in locations throughout the community.

Starting in June, at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month, there will be a longer ride for more experienced riders.

For a schedule and more information, go to www.fwtrails.org.
