Winter’s guardian suit settled


The mother and sister of “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter have settled a guardianship dispute over who will care for the teenage actress.

Winter’s mother, Chrisoula Workman, and sister Shanelle Gray announced the accord on Monday in Los Angeles just before a guardianship trial was set to begin.

The 16-year-old actress will continue living with Gray, and Winter will decide whether to visit with her mother.

A temporary guardianship was granted in 2012 after Gray filed a petition alleging Workman subjected her daughter to emotional abuse. Workman denied abusing her daughter.

CMT gives nods

Thanks to her friends in country music, Miranda Lambert leads the Country Music Television nominations by pairing with her husband, Blake Shelton; her girl group, Pistol Annies; and friend Keith Urban.

She’s up for two individual awards for her video “Automatic,” two for collaborating with the Annies on Shelton’s song “Boys ’Round Here” and two more for her duet with Urban on “We Were Us.”

Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line have five nominations each, and Urban and Taylor Swift are tied with four nominations.

Voting continues on until June 1. The awards show will take place June 4.

Daughter arrives

It’s a girl for “Scandal” actress Kerry Washington and retired NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha.

A birth certificate released Friday shows the couple’s daughter Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha was born around 5 p.m. April 21 in Los Angeles. The parents haven’t announced the baby publicly. Washington’s publicist Amanda Silverman said no statement was available.
