Ligonier boy shot, killed accidentally

A 7-year-old Ligonier boy was accidentally shot and killed by his brother Saturday, according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers responding to a report of a shooting about 12:30 p.m. on County Road 1100 N. found 7-year-old Jaylin Miller dead of a single gunshot wound, according to a news release.

Jaylin and his brother had gone outside to shoot moles when the brother discharged the gun, striking and killing Jaylin, the statement said.

The Noble County Coroner said the shooting was accidental and that the boys’ parents were on the scene when it happened.

The brother’s name and age were not released.
