Juvenile arrested in Barr Street fire

A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a Monday morning fire that heavily damaged a detached garage at a Barr Street home, Fort Wayne firefighters said today.

No one was injured in the fire, which the Fort Wayne Fire Department had said was intentionally set.

Firefighters were called to 2902 Barr St. about 10:15 a.m. and found the detached garage fully involved in flames, the fire department said in a statement.

The fire was put out within a few minutes, the statement said. It said four neighboring structures sustained heat damage.

Witnesses reported a suspicious person in the area before the fire, the statement said.
