A train car left its track early Thursday, causing traffic to be rerouted for several hours while the nearby crossing was closed.

About 7 a.m., police and emergency workers received a report of a train derailment at tracks that cross Anthony Boulevard south of Maumee Avenue.

One train car derailed but did not cause a spill of any material or any injuries, according to David Pidgeon, a Norfolk Southern spokesman.

The tracks were closed for several hours.
