Man held in Warsaw gas station holdup

Warsaw police arrested a man they said was responsible for an armed robbery at a gas station early Thursday.

Daniel Ybarra Jr., 30, was being held without bail Thursday evening after his noon arrest in connection with an armed robbery, according to Kosciusko County Jail officials.

About 4 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the Lassus Handy Dandy on Plaza Drive. The store clerk told authorities that a man, later identified as Ybarra, approached the counter and pulled a gun as he demanded money. The clerk told police Ybarra said he would shoot if he didn’t get the money and he needed it to “feed my babies.”

No injuries were reported in the robbery.
