Engle Road section to close for Earth Day

A section of Engle Road will be closed Sunday during the Earth Day Fort Wayne celebration, the Little River Wetlands Project said today.

The section between Smith Road and Statesman's Way will be closed between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., the project said in a statement.

"Closing this section of Engle Road creates more room for activity tents, expands parking, and improves safety for bikers and families we're inviting to Eagle Marsh on Earth Day," said Amy Silva, the project's executive director, in the statement.

More than two dozen organizations will take part in the event, with information stations, workshop presentations and other events, the statement said.
