FORT WAYNE – Parkview Field was friendly to the Carroll Chargers on Tuesday, if hardly confining.
In the opening game of the Parkview Sports Medicine Baseball Series, the Chargers raked four Huntington North pitchers for 13 hits and 10 runs in a 10-0 shutout.
And Chargers pitcher Taylor Goshen was in his comfort zone, too, spinning a one-hit shutout.
At the plate, Grant Inman, Trevor Snyder, Matt Meihls and Matt Owens all had two hits.
Jacob Hansen drove in four runs and scored two.
WAYNE 9, CANTERBURY 8: A six-run fourth lifted the Generals at Wayne. Kaine Jackson was 4 for 4 with three RBI.
CHURUBUSCO 10, LAKELAND 2: The Eagles got a two-hitter from Hayden Kilgore at Lakeland.
LEO 6, COLUMBIA CITY 4: The Lions scored a run in the fifth inning and two in the sixth to notch the come-from-behind win at Leo.
BISHOP DWENGER 12, GARRETT 0: A seven-run second inning was more than enough cushion for Saints pitcher Dan Connelly, who tossed a two-hit shutout.
HOMESTEAD 15, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 12: The Spartans trailed 11-3 after two innings but scored seven in the fifth and two in the sixth to claim the victory.
LAKEWOOD PARK CHRISTIAN 13, ADAMS CENTRAL 3: Hannah Priskorn went 4 for 5 and scored three runs to lead a 19-hit attack for the Panthers at home.
