2 moped riders badly hurt in crash

Two women were badly hurt late Wednesday when the moped they were riding collided with a vehicle at Jefferson Boulevard and Getz road, police said.

The two women were riding together on a moped that was southbound on Getz about 11 p.m. They ran a red light at Jefferson and were struck by a vehicle going east on Jefferson, police said.

One woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The other was in serious condition, police said.

The names of those involved in the crash were not released by police.
