Judge hears guilty plea in Internet porn solicitations

Nathan Hasty

Nathan Hasty on Wednesday admitted in open court to encouraging juvenile boys to send him sexually explicit photos.

Hasty, 36, a former Huntington resident and Youth For Christ worker, filed a guilty plea in U.S. District Court earlier this month, admitting to sexual exploitation of children, one of three counts in an indictment handed down against him in the fall of 2012.

On Wednesday afternoon, U.S. District Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey heard Hasty’s guilty plea in a brief hearing. Hasty will be sentenced at a later date.

As part of his plea agreement with federal prosecutors, Hasty will be sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison and agrees to forfeit a computer. The additional two charges will be dismissed.
