    The roads around Interstate 469 and Auburn Road have been cleared and reopened after a construction crew hit a gas line this morning, requiring patients and staff from two medical buildings to be evacuated for a time, Fort Wayne firefighters said.

Police hosting pill drop-off on Saturday

Time to clean out the medicine cabinet.

The Indiana State Police will accept expired, unused or unwanted medication Saturday at the state police post on Ellison Road, just off West Jefferson Boulevard.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Drug Take Back Event will accept all medication, including controlled substances issued by prescriptions. New or used needles will not be accepted.

This is the eighth such event offered by the state police in the last three years.

In October 2013 the event received 1,451 pounds of unused or unwanted medication.
