Motorcycle hits van; rider in critical condition

A man was in critical condition early Friday after his motorcycle hit a parked van.

About 4 a.m., police were called to Main and Watkins streets, where they found the man unresponsive in the middle of the street near his motorcycle.

Investigators determined that the motorcycle was going west on Main Street when it crossed the road and hit a parked van on the east side of the street.

The impact flipped the motorcycle and threw the rider.

Police said it was too soon to determine what caused the man to hit the van. His name was not released.
