Shot hits toilet, misses bedroom by a foot

Gunfire woke a Fort Wayne woman early Friday, striking a toilet and narrowly missing her bedroom, according to a police report.

A city officer reported hearing nine to 11 gunshots before reports came in of men running through Chapel Oaks with guns.

A half-dozen bullet holes were found in the siding of a residence in the 900 block of Oaklawn Court, the report said, and two men were seen running away before jumping into a tan Chevy Impala.

A bullet came through the wall and hit the toilet, the report said, adding that had the bullet struck about a foot over, it would have gone into her bedroom.
