Bus window shattered at elementary school

FORT WAYNE – A window on a bus was shattered while parked on Tuesday, waiting for school to be dismissed at South Wayne Elementary School, according to a report released Friday by the Fort Wayne Police Department.

It said that the driver heard a bang and saw the window shatter. A dent on the window center divider could have been made by a bullet, she told police.

The officer called to the school, 810 Cottage Ave., at 4:21 p.m. was given something that might have been part of a bullet, the report said.

The officer said schools officials told him the sound of what could have been gunshots had been heard about the time the window shattered.
