Stoppages to continue at Dupont, I-69

Traffic on Thursday will be intermittently stopped on Dupont Road (Indiana 1) to switch stoplights to temporary spans, the Indiana Department of Transportation's Fort Wayne district announced.

Each stoppage can last 30 minutes or longer, INDOT said, adding the work will be suspended between the peak travel hours of 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

The speed limit on Dupont is posted at 35 mph in the construction zone, from the Dupont Commerce Court entrance to Parkview Plaza.

The I-69 of-ramp to Dupont is now restricted to one turn lane in each direction.

To avoid delays, drivers might want to seek alternate routes, INDOT said, such as the new Union Chapel Road interchange at Exit 317.

For more information, call the INDOT toll-free line at 866-227-3555 or send an e-mail to NEinformation@indot.in.gov.
