Stoppages, signal work scheduled at I-69, Dupont Road

The Indiana Department of Transportation Fort Wayne District announced Tuesday that traffic on Wednesday will be intermittently stopped on Dupont Road (Indiana 1) to switch stoplights to temporary spans.

Each stoppage can last 10 to 15 minutes, INDOT said.

The work will begin at 10 a.m. on the east intersection of Dupont and Interstate 69 and then move to the west intersection by early afternoon. The work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m.

The speed limit Dupont s posted at 35 mph in the construction zone, from the Dupont Commerce Court entrance to Parkview Plaza.

The I-69 off ramp to Dupont is now restricted to one turn lane in each direction, and earth work will continue at the four corners of the ramps through the middle of May.

To avoid delays, drivers might want to seek alternate routes, INDOT said, such as the new Union Chapel Interchange at Exit 317.
