Foul play suspected in DeKalb fire

A DeKalb County garage fire remains under investigation after the sheriff’s department officials said they suspected foul play, according to a sheriff’s department release.

At about 5 a.m. Saturday, fire and police responded to a call about a detached garage that was on fire in the 1300 block of West Quincy Street in Altona.

Fire crews placed the fire under control, but the structure sustained damage to about one-third of the building, according to the release.

Police suspected foul play because the initial fire originated at a point that faced an alley, the release said.
