City Utilities hosting sessions for Aqua Indiana customers

– City Utilities will host information sessions for residents in southwest Fort Wayne to get an update about their transition from Aqua Indiana water to City Utilities water.

The city’s $67 million purchase of Aqua Indiana’s southwest system and settlement of the dispute over the purchase price for the company’s former north system is expected to get final approval late this month or early May.

The transition to city water for Aqua customers could start in the fall, a process that will take about five months to complete.

Two public meetings with presentations and three open house sessions – where residents can drop by at their convenience to ask questions – will occur this month.

Meetings with presentations:

•6:30 p.m. Wednesday – Summit Middle School, 4509 Homestead Road; enter Door No. 11

•6:30 p.m. April 28 – Whispering Meadows Elementary, 415 Mission Hill Drive; enter Door No. 2

Open house events:

•1-5 p.m. Wednesday – Aboite branch library, 5630 Coventry Lane

•11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 29 – Aboite branch library

•6-8 p.m. April 30 – Fire Station No. 19, 10116 Covington Road
