Lima Road project reduces traffic lanes

More than a mile of Lima Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting today.

Indiana Department of Transportation officials said the restriction between Coliseum Boulevard and Dalgren Avenue is needed for a resurfacing project that will also include work on signal heads, traffic markings, curbs, gutters and storm sewers.

Traffic will shift to the west side of the road during the work, which is expected to last until mid- or late June. After that, traffic will shift to the east side so crews can do the same work on the remaining lanes.

The $1.5 million resurfacing project is scheduled to be completed by fall.
