Ohio trooper indicted on porn-related charge

SANDUSKY, Ohio – A state trooper in northern Ohio has been indicted on a charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

The State Highway Patrol put Sgt. Ricky Vitte Jr. on leave Wednesday after he was indicted.

Vitte has been under investigation in Sandusky County since late last year.

The Sandusky Register reports that a boy told social workers that Vitte showed him pornography videos about five years ago.

A sheriff’s report says Vitte told the boy’s mother he was teaching him about alternatives to sexual intercourse.

Vitte has denied the allegations. A message seeking comment was left with his attorney Thursday.
